Administrative Assistant (Seasonal – Nonprofit sector, paid)

Our Client, Operation Eyesight is an international NGO working to prevent blindness and restore sight around the world. Please note that this position is part-time, seasonal (September 29 or October 6, 2026 to Jan 31, 2027) and is required to work in office, Tuesday to Thursday, from 8am to 4pm. The hourly compensation is $20 to $22 per hour.

What Does the opportunity look like?

Reporting to the Manager, Fund Development Operations and Annual Giving will work closely with the Fund Development team on a variety of tasks and projects that will support Operation Eyesight’s fundraising efforts during the holiday season. This position retains a small number of administrative duties, specifically providing back-up support for the Fund Development team, while prioritizing high-impact data and analytics tasks.

Administrative and Donor Support

  • Assist the Fund Development team in answering donor calls, taking donations, mailings, updating card orders in database, and/or fielding calls.
  • Assist with the tracking and mailing of greeting cards and gift tags as part of the annual Gift of Sight holiday campaign.
  • Assist with processing credit card donations online when necessary.
  • Provide back-up coverage for vacation coverage, absences, or as needed, responding to phone and email inquiries with excellent, donor-centered service;
  • Ensure a professional, friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the office at all times;
  • Support the flow of mail, courier, faxes and phone messages;
  • Assist with mailing tax receipts and other donor mailings as necessary;
  • Miscellaneous administrative support with filing, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and/or PowerPoint presentations.
  • Work in Salesforce to update addresses and donor preferences based on calls, returned mail and donations; entering donor activity and notes into Salesforce.
  • Other various duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • Worked towards or completion of post-secondary program / some post-secondary education would be an asset
  • Experience in fund development and/or customer service considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude and a strong customer service focus
  • Well-organized with strong time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling donor information
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • Basic to intermediate experience with Excel (e.g., filters, pivot tables) preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is an asset
  • Interest in fundraising strategies is an asset
