Wilson Wong, CPHR, RPR, PI Practitioner
Wilson has spent over a decade helping businesses with organizational development, hiring the right people and building high performing teams. He’s focused on supporting not for profit organizations that are making an impact across the world, professional services (which involves a variety of healthcare companies like Dentists, but any business that provides a service) and equipment dealerships. Wilson has also taught the HR courses for SAIT’s School of Business, received approval to teach continuing education credit workshops through CPHR Alberta, Alberta Dental Association, Alberta Veterinary Medical Association and Calgary Construction Association.
What makes Wilson stand out to his clients is his ability to develop practical HR solutions to meet the needs of his clients. Whether it’s HR work that helps drive revenue, improve profitability and/or less stress for business owners. In his spare time, he loves to travel with his wife and son, go for walks with his Shiba Inu or spend time with his 2 cats (short hair tabby and British Short Hair).
Steve Feland
Steve has joined the team at Modern People Solutions as an Executive HR Consultant. Steve has worked with small businesses to large corporations throughout North America, supporting companies in agriculture, equipment dealerships, aerospace, private equity and municipalities.
Steve has an extensive background in HR with a ton of certifications (which we won’t list so we don’t bore you), but he is known for executive compensation strategies, working with a board of directors, being an occupational health psychologist (mental health), coaching leaders, implementing HR Technology (ERP) to streamline business operations and developing employee data to help businesses make more informed decisions.
Outside of work, Steve loves to go for hikes, spending time with his family and dogs.
Colleen Cheng
Colleen brings in over 15 years of local and global governance and operational knowledge within Compensation and Benefits. She has worked for non-publicly and publicly traded companies within Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Insurance, etc. As a CCP and CEBS practicing professional, she brings in a depth of knowledge regarding to good corporate governance, practical strategies, and resourceful solutions that are specific to an organization’s lifecycles. Colleen has worked directly with all levels within the organization from Board of Directors to Executives to Management. Colleen has worked with many vendors to develop and implement global enterprises for both Compensation and Benefits programs across numerous geographical locations. Colleen’s approach to Compensation and Benefits is to ensure the programs are flexible and sustainable to the point of withstanding fast-paced changes and the environment in which the organization operates.
Ayla Thomas
Ayla is a Client Success Manager at Modern People Solutions, where she serves as a key point of contact for new clients, ensuring a seamless, responsive, and professional experience. She supports the coordination of client engagements, assists with operational (Recruitment) and executive functions, and works closely with the team, to ensure client needs are met efficiently and thoughtfully.
Ayla chose to pursue Human Resources to continue her passion of supporting people, while supporting businesses to succeed. Currently, she is finishing her HR Degree, enrolled with CPHR Alberta and completing her RPR designation. She loves any opportunity to learn, grow and to find solutions.
With over 15 years of experience in client-facing and people-centered roles, Ayla is known for building strong, trust-based relationships, while bringing an enthusiastic, organized, and solutions-focused approach to her work. Passionate about relationship management and operational excellence, her people-first mindset ensures that clients feel heard, supported, and confident in their partnership with the firm.
In her personal time, Ayla loves to work out, do yoga, spend time in nature and enjoy good vibes with friends.
Dionne Reed
Meet Dionne Reed, with over 15 years of marketing experience, Dionne brings extensive knowledge to the Modern People Solutions team as our Strategic Marketing Partner. Her background includes sales, advertising and marketing for non-profit organizations (including serving on a board), healthcare, equipment dealerships and other industries. Dionne’s strategic approach to marketing through traditional, digital and alternative marketing mediums paired with her knowledge of customer psychology and messaging have made her successful in marketing in a variety of industries.
Midnight
Meet Midnight (British Short Hair), our Director of Operations. In all seriousness, he wins clients over with his cuteness, british accent and pawsitivity. In his spare time, he likes to sleep, sleep some more and cuddle up to his owners during movies.
